“Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
Peter said to him in reply, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.”
He said, “Come.”
Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught Peter, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” — Matthew 14:27–31*
Reflection
Reflect today on any trial or suffering you endure that tempts you to fear. Confront that fear head-on. Rebuke it. Look for Jesus, who comes to you in the midst of the trial, walking on and through that very storm. Know that it is truly Him drawing near. As you overcome fear, keep your eyes fixed on Him, not on the storm. This is what strengthens our faith and enables us to keep moving forward toward the goal: Jesus’ hand of divine grace.

Rosary Procession – Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Please join us on Saturday, 15 August as we celebrate the Assumption of Our Lady with a beautiful Rosary Procession following the 5:00pm Holy Mass.
We will process through the parish car parks, praying together and offering our love and devotion to Our Blessed Mother.
You are invited to bring:
· Flowers, candles or a torch for the procession
· A plate to share for fellowship afterwards
Special invitations:
· Children are welcome to come dressed in white.
· Adults are encouraged to wear their cultural dress to honour Our Lady

Care and Concern Ministry
Our parish Care and Concern Ministry is here to support you with compassion and faith. If you or your loved ones are unable to attend Mass due to sickness, age, or mobility challenges, we would be honoured to bring the presence of Christ to you. We can arrange for someone to visit, share the Gospel, pray with you, and offer Holy Communion. You are not forgotten—you remain a vital part of our parish family.

St Vincent de Paul Appeal - How you can help this Winter
This winter, more and more Queenslanders like David (including those in the Greater Springfield area), are slipping through the cracks. With fuel, the cost of living and rental prices higher than ever, an unexpected bill, the loss of a job or a relationship break down can be enough to push someone into homelessness.
St Vincent de Paul Springfield Conference therefore urgently needs your support please by restocking our cupboard. Our food supplies are running very low and many in our community depend on it to get by. Right now, our cupboard is almost bare. We’re asking for donations of non-perishable items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and any other staples you can provide. You can drop off donations at the parish office during the week or bring them with you to Mass each weekend.
Let’s come together as a community to help those facing tough times. Every donation makes a difference Thank you for your generosity and for supporting those in need!

Reclaim Retreat 2026
The Youth and Young Adults team from Archdiocesan Ministries invites you to explore the hope that is within us as Christians through this three-day, two-night retreat experience.
Reclaim is an opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life, reconnect with friends, make new ones, and create space for God.
Drawing on 1 Peter 3:15, this retreat asks: What is the reason for our hope as Christians? It offers the chance to encounter, or re-encounter, the hope that is within us through Christ Jesus and to be reminded of the living hope He offers to His people.
Take time away from distractions and responsibilities, and allow His voice to remind you of the hope He desires to give you.
