Jesus said to the Jewish crowds:
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”
The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying,
“How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
(John 6:51–52)
Reflect today on Jesus’ unwavering clarity:
“Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.”
Believe what He says. The Eucharist is not a symbol; it is the greatest Divine Mystery on earth. In the Eucharist, we kneel before God and receive Him—so that we may become what we receive: the Mystical Body of Christ.

This timely letter invites us to reflect on what it means to protect human dignity in a rapidly changing world, especially as artificial intelligence continues to shape our lives, work and relationships.

All are invited to this significant and visible celebration of faith on the Feast of Corpus as we honour the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist through a public procession through the streets of Brisbane City. Led by Archbishop Shane Mackinlay, this annual procession brings together thousands of faithful from parishes and communities across the Archdiocese in a vibrant and prayerful witness. Beginning at the Cathedral, we will process through the Brisbane CBD, praying, singing, and honouring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, before returning to the Cathedral for Benediction. Parishes and communities are encouraged to bring banners representing their parish, community, or patron saints.

Gabe’s Seminary Tour and Pilgrimage
Parishioners are invited to join a special pilgrimage to visit Gabe Guillaume at Holy Spirit Seminary on Saturday 27 June.
The plan is to meet at the Seminary at 10am. Parishioners are welcome to travel by train with the group or make their own way by car.
For those travelling by train, the group will catch the 8:09am train from Springfield Central, arriving at Banyo at 9:37am, followed by an approximately 18-minute walk to the Seminary.
Those driving can meet at the Seminary at 10am.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to support Gabe during his formation, visit the Seminary, see the beautiful artworks within the Seminary and spend time together as a parish community. We will also have the chance to catch up with parishioner David Thorley, who is currently a second-year seminarian.

Seeking BBQ Volunteers
Thank you to all parishioners who have helped with our BBQ fundraisers this year. So far, around 40 volunteers have stepped up in different ways, and their support has made a real difference.
There are still plenty of opportunities to get involved over the coming weeks. Whether you are confident on the BBQ or happy to help with slicing onions, serving customers, set-up or pack-down, every bit of help is appreciated.
You do not need to commit to a full day. Even an hour or two can make a difference. If transport is difficult, carpooling may also be arranged where possible.

State of Origin BBQ Our State of Origin BBQ on Wednesday 8 July is always a great event, both socially and as a fundraiser for the parish. Volunteers are welcome to help in shifts throughout the day.
Care and Concern Ministry
Our parish is committed to bringing the sacraments to those unable to attend Mass—especially the sick, elderly, or homebound. If you or someone you know would like to receive Holy Communion or pastoral care at home, please contact the parish office to arrange a visit. Let us continue to care for one another in Christ’s love.
